MAHATMA GHANDI’S 150TH ANNIVERSARY | “1LOVE”
On October 2, 2018, Karencitta released her single “1LOVE” (ft. Amaan & Ayaan Ali Bangash) in tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. This meaningful collaboration with the Government of India and Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti—a prestigious organization dedicated to preserving the legacy of Gandhi—was created to promote his timeless principles of non-violence, peace, and truth. Located in New Delhi, India, Gandhi Smriti is the site where Mahatma Gandhi spent his final days before his assassination on January 30, 1948. The song was selected as the official soundtrack for Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th Anniversary celebrations. As a strong advocate for the humanitarian values that form the foundation of global peace, Karencitta expressed her belief that:
1. Universal humanitarianism is essential for solving the world’s challenges, as these problems are manmade and, therefore, can be addressed by humanity.
2. Peace is the mother of progress—without peace, a nation cannot move forward.
3. The type of love we should advocate is unconditional love, even toward those who have wronged us. While she may not have the power to end wars, Karencitta strives to promote peace. As far as it depends on us, we should live in peace with one another, for 1LOVE will always prevail.
This initiative reflects her commitment to spreading unity, love, and peace in the world, in line with the values Mahatma Gandhi championed throughout his life.

CHRISTMAS 2024 OUTREACH | THE NEHEMIAH CHILDREN'S HOME
On December 22, 2024, The Karencitta Foundation will host a heartwarming outreach event for Christ for Asia International, an orphanage and homeless shelter for children in Guadalupe, Cebu City. The foundation organized a feeding program, games with prizes, and a magic show, with a Santa Claus mascot adding an extra touch of joy and excitement for the children. Karencitta chose this beneficiary because of her deep passion for children and her alignment with their mission: "Representing God’s character to the young generation. It is our mission to represent the loving and compassionate character of God to the young generation in all possible ways through our services, in all opportunities we have, to all young people we meet." The Nehemiah Children’s Homes, which is part of the Christ for Asia International mission, provides a safe haven for neglected, abused, and abandoned children. These homes offer protection and rehabilitation to help children heal from the trauma of their past. The Boys’ Home and Girls’ Home each shelter 36 children, many of whom have come from the streets or suffered from abuse and neglect. In line with UNICEF’s guidelines, the homes offer special provisions and care through the dedication of house parents and social workers. The children live in family groups, fostering a sense of security, protection, and belonging. For many, this is the first time in their lives they experience a true sense of home. Through this initiative, The Karencitta Foundation reinforced her commitment to supporting vulnerable children, creating opportunities for healing, and instilling hope for a brighter future.
